Hong Kong Atelier - a promotion campaign to showcase Hong Kong creative talent's
excellence at leading international trade fairs in mature markets.
|
Hong Kong Atelier is an invaluable platform for both established and emerging designers of Hong Kong to test and expand to overseas market.
Emerging designers refer to Hong Kong designers with minimum 6-year working experience in the design or related professions. Designers with over 12-year working experience will be classified as established designers.

|
Hong Kong designers include but not limited to Product Designers, Graphic Designers, Packaging Designers and Interior Designers.
All design service providers are welcome, depending on the requirements of the specific fair organiser’s regulations/criteria.
|
|
|
|
Where will it be launched?
|
|
|
|
Each designer can participate in a maximum of 2 Hong Kong Atelier activities in either Tokyo or Paris and Chicago, subject to the approval by the screening panel. The screening panel will reserve the right to assign the designers to be featured in specific trade fairs according to the market potential of their design services in fairs and markets concerned.
|
The scale of each Hong Kong Atelier in the specified trade fairs is around 36sqm to 48sqm.
|
|
To maximise the promotion of Hong Kong design service, HKTDC will organise a 1-Day mission programme for all participating Hong Kong designers in each Hong Kong Atelier activity to understand the local market.
|
|
|
All Hong Kong Atelier applicants must go through a selection process by the “Screening Panel” based on the following criteria:

Creativity and Originality
|
|
|
|
|
Design-related awards / certificates attained
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Screening Panel will consist of HKTDC representatives and qualified members with expertise or experience in the design sector nominated by reputable Hong Kong design organisations and institutes.
|
An open and co-exhibit format; &
1-day market/company visit programme
|
|
|
|
|
|
Product, Graphic, Packaging and Interior Design
|
|
|
|
|
|
HKD10,000.00 per Hong Kong Atelier per designer for:
- Exhibit Area & Admission Fee
- Round Trip Economy Class Air Ticket
- Single Room Hotel Accommodation
- Marketing & Publicities
- Interpreter (Tokyo and Paris)
- Sample Shipment
|

|
|
|
|
Participants are responsible for personal expenses such as insurance, meals and other incidentals.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
You are a Hong Kong designer with a registered BRAND and substantial operation in Hong Kong. It is at Hong Kong Atelier Screening Panel’s discretion to accept or reject any applications.
You will man the display unit introducing your products or services to the visitors during the fair period (except the company/market visit).
